  • Dr. Kesiena Owebor is a purpose-driven scholar, fellow at the Università di Pisa, and registered Mechanical Engineer specializing in sustainable and low-carbon energy systems. He holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering, as well as M.Eng. and PhD degrees in Energy and Thermofluid Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt, where he achieved outstanding CGPAs of 5.00/5.00 in both his master’s and PhD degrees. With over five years of teaching experience, Dr. Owebor lectures energy and thermofluid-related courses in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Delta State University, Nigeria. His research interests include energy modelling, renewable energy, fuel cell systems, thermal energy conversion technologies, low-emission systems, and energy & just transition pathways. He has authored more than thirty publications in reputable outlets including Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, and Taylor & Francis, with about 1000 Google Scholar citations. He also serves as a reviewer for Elsevier’s Applied Energy journal. Dr. Owebor was the Power Sector Team Lead for the Nigerian Deep Decarbonisation Pathway Project, the Nigerian Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy, the Nigeria Just Transition Guideline and Action Plan, and the Nigerian Net-Zero Investment Needs assessment. He is fully registered by COREN, active on ResearchGate and Google Scholar, and has supervised several undergraduate projects and co-supervised a master’s-level project.
